After a sudden onset of illness, dad was brought to the 100 Mile House hospital, where they ruled out what we thought was a possible heart attack (or other cardiac issue). They shipped him to Kamloops to check for blood clots. On Wednesday June 26th he was diagnosed with advanced acute leukaemia. At that time the prognosis was 2 or so months.
At 11:10pm Saturday July 27th, we were with him as he slipped peacefully into the arms of his Heavenly Father. On behalf of our family, I want to thank all those that stood with us and dad in prayer and support over the past month, it meant so much to us all, in ways words cannot adequately express.
Dad, you are truly in a better place with Jesus and I’m sure welcomed with open arms by your own mom, dad and the brothers and sister that beat you there. The hole in my heart that feels like it is impossible to ever heal, is at least lessened by the knowledge that I will see you again, and we will get in that last fishing trip.
I love you dad, I will never forget you.
